ABOUT Buz Wilson
Isopod crustaceans have been my consuming passion since beginning research on the fantastic species (suborder Asellota) that live in the deep sea. As a biological oceanographer, I was intrigued by ideas on how the deep sea came to have vast numbers of species. These studies led to working in Australia on fresh water groups that have a phylogenetic relationship to the deep-sea groups, particularly the suborder Phreatoicidea. As a new arrival in Michigan, I will investigate the surrounding waters and look for new opportunities to study local isopods.
Owing to my 40+ years experience with the Isopods and deep-sea biodiversity, I can assist you with isopod identifications and analytical needs.
